About Alan LaPolice

Born in rural Kansas and raised with his six siblings on a dairy farm, Alan LaPolice learned early on the value of hard work, integrity, and relationships. He is a fifth generation Kansas farmer and still farms today. He graduated at the top of his high school class, was active in FFA, FBLA, Yearbook and Forensics, ran track and led the high school marching band, all while working on his family farm as well as a nearby hog lot.

Alan joined the Army fresh out of high school and bravely served as a Combat Infantryman with the 3rd Infantry Division in the First Gulf War.  He excelled at rifle marksmanship and was made his battalion's youngest combat gunner on a Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle.  He then served in Battalion Intelligence at the National Training Center at Ft. Irwin CA.

Along with his G.I. Bill, Alan's academic prowess and leadership abilities earned him several scholarship to U.C. Berkeley, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in the Performing Arts and English Literature.   Then, in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan, he worked as an actor until deciding to pursue a career as an English Teacher.  He quickly ascended the teaching profession and ultimately became a high school administrator in one of the roughest parts of the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Most recently, he served as district superintendent in a rural California Public School District.  Ultimately though, Alan was called back to his roots and moved his wife and three daughters back to his hometown of Clyde where he has maintained a residence for the past ten years.

When elected to Congress, Alan will bring something with him that is sorely missing in Washington: Perspective.  Alan has both lived and worked across this great nation of ours and beyond.  In addition to the two years he served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany, the six months deployed in Iraq and the year at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin California, Alan has also lived in Georgia, New York, California, and even in Dublin Ireland.  It is here, however, in the great state of Kansas that Alan has always found his greatest comfort and a place to call home.  Alan has spent years here farming with his dad and working construction projects and carpentry with his uncles.  His mother is an R.N., his grandmother owned a successful country restaurant, his grandfather ran a rural mechanic shop and his many other family members either farm or work in and run small businesses all around this great community.

Today, Alan wants to serve as your Congressman on Capitol Hill. A Congressman who believes in working together to get the job done.  A Congressman who will effectively serve the people of this great district, this great state and this great nation.  A Congressman who can actually produce and a man who truly cares.
